WELCOME
One thing that is constantly proclaimed in various TV shows and glossy magazines is that your clothes and style should always show your personality, and who better follows that motto than Mariah? Mariah's clothes, or "ensembles" as she likes to call them, are always grand, sexy and flirty (and sometimes just plain over-the-top), yet always worn with that endearing childlike, disarming overcoat. A perfect match to her equally contradictory persona.
Join me on this rollercoaster ride of Mariah's wardrobe that will chronicle the best-selling female artist of all time, and moreover fashion icon's, journey through this not-so-easily navigated runway known as haute couture. There will be ups and downs, but as we all know, Mariah always ends on a high note.

10/23/2006: "Black Is The New Black Pt. II"
Mimi goes go-go dancer in this smoking hot tour number that so strikingly displays those "legs of a Goddess". No one can pull off the tube top/matching skirt (or in this case, tube top/matching tube top ) like Mariah, but as with most of her outfits, she likes to add a personal touch to it, and what's a better, or more "Mariah", way of doing that than adding some sparkling sequins spelling out, what else, but "MIMI". once again, mariah misses fashion by a bullseye. those short tops and short skirts are just too little, leaving nothing to the imagination. she is not a slender woman to be wearing something that is quite unflattering to her body. i wouldn't be surprised if fans in the front row saw underneath her skirt.

Mariah should ALWAYS wear short skirts and tube tops! I was disappointed that she went back to the capri-pant/jeans outfit on the tour after she started wearing this one. I do have to say, though, that the "junk in the trunk" looked pretty good in those pants.

Well, I think the thing here to be discussed should be the LEGS, not that micro-skirt. It's all about legs, and most of the people there enjoyed to see them. Like she said in Rosie O'Donnel in 1999 (or 2000); "if she wants to show them, she shows them".

legs of a goddess, thighs of a black woman. somehow Mariah fails to get that, which is sad.
nevertheless, it's a nice, festive outfit.

You should review your alphabet. Both outfits deserves another letter. Lower than B.

A longer shirt and skirt would have made a big difference, in my opinion.

This is a very unflattering and tacky outfit. How it could be improved:
-She should opt for a thicker, less clingy fabric. -She either needs to not bare her stomach, or the skirt should be at least 6 inches longer. I even think a knee-length skirt with a moderate split would be quite sleek. -The chain belt (and the one around her neck) look cheap, and wearing them that way is played out. -The cape is ridiculous no matter what it is paired with and should have been omitted long ago. -I know this is a blog about her ensembles, but I would like to note that hair and make-up also play a big role in how an outfit is perceived overall. The hairstyling and make-up for TAOM tour was very lazy and sloppy and thus made this unpolished get-up even worse. Sleeker/neater hair would have also made this image much easier on the eyes.

I think the other outfit she had at the beginning of the tour (NYC, E. Rutherford) is better than this one...
