In the US, Merry Christmas is #26 on the Pop Catalogue chart. It's 12 positions higher than Celine's Dion's These Are Special Times and could have very well overtaken it in total US Soundscan sales, but don't get too excited until we see figures. shocked

In the UK, All I Want For Christmas Is You has sold 398,328 copies to date.

Some interesting facts about download sales of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" in the UK for week ending 31/12/2006:

* If the track was allowed to chart on the Official UK Singles Chart, the single would have rocketed in at #20.

* The track was downloaded 7,572 (down 46%) times in the UK last week.

* The UK gold single, with shipment of over 400,000 units in 1994, at 31 December, 2006 had sold 405,901 units since records began in 1995.

i hope that 'merry christmas' surpasses celine dion's 'these are special times' in sales. but i remember reading somewhere recently that celine's christmas cd is at 4.8+ million while mariah's is around 4.7+ million.

hope to see the figures soon.

This is good news that AIWFCIY actually sold more this past week than the previous week. Wow. Look at that airplay figure. Amazing. MC is just incredible. The song and the corresponding album will continue to do well for years to come.
