Interesting Tidbits:

In October of 2002, Atlanta radio station 955 The Beat auctioned off Mariah's half-eaten turkey sandwich on eBay, after she ate lunch at the station before an on-air interview. Though it was bid up to several hundred dollars, the listing was eventually removed by eBay.

Most memorably, the last time Mariah played Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA, she announced to the crowd that she was suffering the ill-effects of food poisoning after she had eaten raw oysters the night before. In true Mariah style, she joked that she wasn't supposed to say anything about her illness, but she thought fans should know and then asked if anyone would call 911 should she pass out. Mariah was hospitalized in Boston - canceling her show in the city as well as Toronto - after leaving Atlanta but continued on schedule following her treatment.

From Atlanta Journal-Constitution: A grateful Mariah Carey plays Philips Arena

Mariah Carey decorated her stage Wednesday night at Philips Arena with her initials. They were designed in an interlocking symbol, a cross between the Chanel logo and a hood ornament, and they represented her status as a pop music luxury brand.

Carey has had her ups and downs, as an extended video metaphor involving a roller coaster reminded us. But she's back on top now, having had the best-selling album of 2005 - "The Emancipation of Mimi" - with the help of Atlanta songwriter/producer Jermaine Dupri.

Dupri appeared onstage multiple times Wednesday night - he came out before Carey to get the crowd pumped up, joined her for a run through "Shake It Off" and shared the stage with Da Brat during a lull in the action. Dupri is a sparkplug of a man, an instant jolt of energy, and Carey thanked him profusely throughout the night.

The show had some disjointed moments and questionable fashion decisions, but Carey was warm and gracious and generally in good voice - she cheesed it up with fans, hit her famous high notes and seemed pleased to be there.

She began the show wearing a spangly black bra and matching boy-shorts, accessorizing with a cape. Later she wore a yellow dress with a deep slit. Her hair fell in waves down her back. Her midriff was well-ventilated.

Carey sometimes seemed unsure whether she was supposed to be onstage or off. And there was a clumsy moment about halfway through the show in which she started "Always Be My Baby," stopped to sing a bit of "Your Girl," then went back into "Baby." But moments like these were kind of endearing - they revealed Carey to be human, as opposed to a robotic diva.

Among other songs, she sang "Hero," "We Belong Together," "Dreamlover," "My All" and "I'll Be There." And if some of the show's most exciting moments came from a DJ spinning tracks by local rappers D4L, Young Jeezy and Young Joc, well, this is Atlanta - what do you expect?

By Mariah Illusions:
Really tired, and dazed in the AMAZEMENT that was Mariah Carey this evening, so I'll just give the interesting bits:

Da Brat and JD were there. They did their raps from the So So Def Remix of Honey as the intro to the album version. He did his spoken parts in Shake It Off and she did her rap in Heartbreaker Remix.

She read someone's sign that said Today's My 24th Birthday, and said happy birthday to them during Don't Forget About Us...she stopped Always Be My Baby the first time through because she said she promised someone she'd sing Your Girl and it was supposed to come before Always Be My Baby. She sang "JD is the king of Atlanta" at the beginning of Shake It Off. Can't Let Go was a little more legit this time i think 'cause the piano player learned the chords and she hit the end high note amazingly.

Vocally, she actually surprised me by how good she was. I saw her on her Rainbow tour and thought she was good, but this blows that out of the water. I've even heard the audio files from this tour, and tonight she did some of her best work. Shake It Off was really well sung/performed, My All BLEW ME AWAY...DEF - the best I've ever heard her sing it since 99 or so. Fly Like A Bird was immaculate (esp. the 1st verse... lots of belting and it was perfect) and We Belong Together was the best I've ever heard it. Lots of audience participation.

She sounded amazing all night, but those were my favorite vocal moments. I'm astonished and wish it had never ended. Missed Vision of Love and Breakdown though.

By Can't Let Go:
Mariah didn't do Breakdown or I Know What You Want and I was upset. Security was a real bitch so I couldn't even get a picture, they wouldn't even allow camera phone pics. And I was on the 4th row but everybody else was takin pics... whatever. Jermaine Dupri came out for It's Like That, Shake It Off and Honey Remix and Da Brat did her Honey remix verse and Heartbreak remix verse. And thx u God she did Can't Let Go!!!!!!!!!! They made me throw my sign away, it read: 'Please sing Can't Let Go' but when she came to that part I started screaming Can't Let Go and then the music came on and she was like 'he's playing' .... and went into it. It was orgasmic, just the piano, very smooth like a quiet jazz tune or something, she was like she sang the chorus and hit the high note. It was like if you take the album version high note but use the softness of the unplugged one. Then she was like that one you might remember, i think she said that, lol. I died after that.

I guess since I already knew the show outline I felt like the show ended early. I just got a feeling that it was a rushed show. There is an afterparty tonight. Some people were selling bootleg MC shirts, lol wow! My voice is hoarse and I absolutely enjoyed the fellow lambs and the diva herself. She was awesome! The thrill of her first coming out is incredible. They only showed 1 lil' movie.

I was lucky enough to be at last night's concert in Atlanta and let me tell you something; if Miami was great, this was definitely AMAZING!

Mariah was really having a good time, you could tell she was having a blast! and her voice... was just fabulous! I am sure she had a really good vocal rest because she was really good.

Things that were different from Miami:
* Set list, Trey did "Friend of Mine"
* The only part they show of the catty girls video was inside the bathroom, they did not do part one and two.
* The lights of "Mimi" during Shake It Off were not as bright as they were and the red dress she had on in Miami didn't use for this show.

Once again there were no pictures allowed and security were really strict about it, taking cameras away and Tour books are not for sale yet.

Great concert, definitely way much better than Miami (not saying Miami wasn't good but this was really something).

First off, this was my first concert ever. I always wanted Mariah to be my first concert. She was unbelievable!!! I was in shock the whole time! Her voice was on point the whole show. I also never realized how in shape Mariah is. You could see all the muscles in her body. Her abs and legs are amazing!!! I guess I have taken her voice for granted all these years listening to her albums, but last night I was just in amazement in how someone’s voice can be that phenomenal. It was a true testament that there really is a God who created us all. No one else but our creator could produce that kind of sound. Thank you Mariah Carey for such a memorable night!

There were so many great moments. I am still in shock that I saw Mariah in person on stage. It's like it wasn't her or something. I still don't think I can grasp the thought that she was there. I definitely saw all the fan club members in the middle section. Some guy with a brown shirt dancing like crazy. There was also some girl with tattoos on her back. And a bunch of other people insane for MIMI.

It was a magical night and will never forget it! Much love MIMI!!!

The show was simply breathtaking. It really went pretty smoothly compared to what I heard about from the other shows. Everything went well together and her outfit changes didn't take nearly as long as I had feared...

Sean Paul opened the show and it was pretty good. You can't understand the guy but you can still recognize the music. His set was for about 45 minutes. Then Mariah came on about an hour after that. From what I could see it looked like they were still puttign the set together and I saw people mopping the stage. Then the lights went out...

They played a little video of Mariah talking about rollercoasters and comparing it to life in general and then the beat kicks in and out pops Mariah with, "I CAME TO HAVE A PARTY!" and Phillips Arena went wild. It was crazy. She did really good. JD and Da Brat both showed up and were on stage a couple of times each. I loved every song. From It's Like That right up to Butterly (outro). Make It Happen she performed like she used to. And Hero she sang it like she was feeling it and holding the notes. Her and Trey did really good together too. My friend was shocked by her singing Can't Let Go and holding that high note.

Some people complained in the other concerts about her taking too long with changing, but I didn't mind cuz Clue had the crowd going with those joints he was spinning. Especially anyone from Atlanta such as T.I. He even played a Michael Jackson song and I thought I was about to lose it. It was really good and kept the energy up. All in all it was a great nite. It seemed like they were filming this footage for something though. They didn't say that but that's just how it felt. I would say the arena was about 95% sold. It should have been sold out cuz it was a fire show. I was hoping she would sing Vision of Love but oh well. I'm just glad she did Can't Let Go. And I swear on We Belong Together I heard her sing, "This is too bleak (too bleak), Ii gotta change the station" then again I could have been hearing things but that's what it sounded like to me which was hot. Absolutely brilliant to see Da Brat, JD, and Mariah doing it like no other. Best concert I've been to.

Her body is amazing and her voice can't be described in words! I am still speechcless from last night. That's how good it was. My favorite song was We Belong Together. She hit EVERY note on Point!!
