FEATURED LOOK
_________________________________________________________________
Fall 2004 // Just as the leaves are changing, it is time to change your wardrobe. Now that the autumn season has arrived, it is time to cover up – just a little bit – to keep the cold winds at bay.
When Mariah was visiting Paris, France last November, during a stop on her Charmbracelet World Tour, she was definitely dressed for the season. Her wool mini-skirt and button-up cardigan sweater are sexy, but also kept her body warm at the same time. In addition, Mariah wore knee-high leather boots to keep those legs warm. Something else that makes this outfit ideal for autumn is the choice of colors. Brown and maroon tones, as Mariah selected, are perfect for this season, as are shades of olive and orange.
Although Mariah’s skirt and sweater have been uniquely altered to fit her to her liking, copying this look and finding similar pieces should be easy. Getting the look for less and looking just as good is only a few clicks away! Here are some suggestions:
For the top, try Eddie Bauer’s wool-blend cable cardigan in cabernet heather, available online at eddiebauer.com. The $59 item is also available in tall and petite sizes and a variety of colors.
If you’re interested in flashing your Mariah style while tanning, be sure to check out For the skirt, shop at Chaiken, where you’ll find a khaki wool-blend mini-skirt marked down from $154 to $69. For the boots, visit Bronx Clothing, where their Naughty 9780 leather boots in Moka-color are going for $109.
If it’s extra chilly outside, you can complete this Mariah look by throwing on your favorite scarf (one that matches the rest of the outfit, of course) and a full-length leather trench coat.

Summer 2004 // Temperatures – along with hemlines and midriff exposure – have been steadily rising for the last few weeks across the northern hemisphere.
When Mariah visited Saint Petersburg, Russia last year – in October – she was sporting the ideal summertime getup. Her simple top and bottom are not only trendy and stylish, but also sexy and colorful. Whether it is walking along the beach, dancing it up in a club, or sitting down for dinner; this outfit is perfect for any summer festivity.
If you like this look, copying it is quite easy since this style is very popular; and even though Mariah’s originals most likely didn’t come from GAP, getting the look for less and looking just as good is only a few clicks away. Here are some suggestions:
For the top, try Liz Claiborne’s ring halter in cornflower blue, available at lizclaiborne.com. The $39 item is also available in walnut brown and navy gray. For the bottom, shop at Fetish by Eve, where you’ll find a slim fitting corduroy cargo miniskirt – originally priced for $65 and now on sale for $39.
If you’re interested in flashing your Mariah style while tanning, be sure to check out aeropostale.com and pacsun.com, where you’ll find bathing suits similar to the ones Mariah wore for her 2004 official calendar photo shoot.

Spring 2004 // When Mariah appeared on the Eurobest Television Special in Europe early last Spring, she was wearing the perfect Spring-time ensemble: a trendy tube dress that was colorful, sexy, and stylish.
Since Mariah was at the event to promote her "Charmbracelet" album, her main accessory was her charm bracelet, of course. However, Mariah was also wearing a butterfly necklace and a butterfly ring. Although she constantly wears butterfly accessories, they are actually an ideal thing to wear specifically in the Spring-time, as butterflies begin to re-appear during this season and, in many ways, butterflies represent the beauty of Spring.
Getting this Mariah look is probably easier than you think! Although Mariah's dress is designer, its style is very popular during Spring; and just because Mariah's jewelry is outrageously priced Van Cleef & Arpels, doesn't mean there aren't much less expensive ways of looking nice! Here are some suggestions:
For the dress, logon to hotfash.com, where you can purchase a pull on tube mini-dress that looks strikingly similar to the one Mariah wore! The price tag? Only $39.99! And if pink isn't your favorite color, the dress is also available in white.
As for the butterfly accessories, shop at CZ Fantasy for a sparkling diamond butterfly ring. It may be Cubic Zirconia, but it's only $16.95! CZ Fantasy's butterfly earrings and pendant may also be of interest to you. If fake diamonds aren't your thing, check out Ross Simons Jewelers for something a little more upperclass.

ACCESSORIES & FASHION TRENDS

Sunglasses // Mariah's sunglasses are Prada, of course! These glasses have unique bottom mounted bows and lower half frames. They are dressy enough for any occasion, light enough for indoor wear, and have UV400 protection for blocking UVA and UVB rays in sunlight (or in Mariah's case, bright camera flashes). If Prada isn't in your price range, try fashionknockoffs.com, where you can get replicas for only $11.95.
Crystal Tattoos // Mariah is rarely seen these days without a temporary tattoo. But that’s no ordinary tattoo! In true diva style, her tattoos are made by using only the finest Austrian crystals by Swarovski. Check out dork-a-licious.com, where the crystal tattoo is being taken to the next level! In their catalog, you'll find Mariah’s butterfly for $15.00, as well as many others. The best part is you can keep reusing these over and over!
Jean Jewel // Mariah turned heads when she performed on The Today Show wearing a pendant around her belt loop. At jeanjewel.com, you can select from hundreds of different styles and even personalize your own custom jewel. Naturally, Mariah’s favorite is the white butterfly pendant; and we hear that she purchased five others for future use. If Jean Jewel is too expensive for you, try Jean Gem, which is only $9.99!
Jersey Dress // After her half-time performance at the 2003 NBA All-Star Game, everyone wanted Mariah’s stylistic jersey dress. Of course, Mariah’s is a one-of-a-kind made from Michael Jordan’s actual Chicago Bulls jersey, but you can probably find a knock-off at your local mall. If not, check out nyfxurbanwear.com and jerseydresses.com. Mariah wore her dress with custom made high-heeled spin offs of the Nike Air Jordan sneakers.
Charm Bracelet // After Mariah named her 2002 album "Charmbracelet" and began wearing charm bracelets, she took a thing of the past and made it popular again! Mariah's bracelets were designed by Rembrandt Charms, which are exclusively available through retail jewelers. To find stores in your area that carry the brand, log on to rembrandtcharms.com. For Mariah, these bracelets are very personal. They can be for you, too!
The Mariah Bandeau // Originally given to her to wear around her head, Mariah decided to take an oversized bandana and wear it as a bikini top for her "Loverboy" music video! She would go on the sport the look at several additional events. If you're brave enough to try this unique look, log on to bandanas.net or bandanas.com for their catalogue of oversized bandanas. Mariah's favorite is the classic paisley pattern in red.
Cut-Off Waistband Jeans // First widely shown in the music video for "Heartbreaker," Mariah inspired a global trend with this look! Designers began copying the style and soon, stores were carrying jeans inspired by Mariah! Although she doesn't wear this style of jean anymore, retailers continue to sell them. Getting this look is quite easy, and you can try it out on any pair of old jeans! Just log on to oldnavy.com for tips!

HAIR & MAKE-UP TIPS
_________________________________________________________________
Skin // First and foremost, Mariah uses a humidifier to keep her skin moist and fresh. As for irritated skin, Mariah recommends you "soak a cotton ball in a mix of milk and ice, and then use it as a compress." For facials, Mariah relies on the European Deep-Cleaning Facial to rid her skin of blackheads and flakes. The process starts with a cleansing and a steaming and ends with a relaxing mask.
For a home remedy alternative, wash your face with a good cleanser (try Mudd Aromatherapy Self-Heating Skin Cleanser). To heat towel, either immense it in very hot water and wring out, or place damp towel in a microwave and zap it for two to four minutes. When it’s cool enough to touch, drape it across your face and lay back for ten minutes to open pores. Remove towel. If your complexion is oily, apply mashed strawberries to the face and massage in a circular motion before rinsing. If your complexion is dry, use a mixture of water and enough oatmeal to form a paste. Remove with the warm towel and splash your face with cool water.
Next, dab an egg mask on with your fingers or a basting brush. Use the white of one egg if skin is oily, or the yolk if skin is dry. For a little extra relaxation, place cucumber slices over your eyes. Remove the egg mask after ten minutes with a mild toner (try Pond’s Clear Solutions Pore Clarifying Astringent) and follow up with a light moisturizer (try Tigi Lighten Up Oil-Free Lotion).
Hair // If you’ve got naturally tight ringlets like Mariah and want to achieve her chic straight-hair look, try rubbing Clairol Frizz Control Taming Balm thoroughly into wet hair. Separate hair into sections and work from the front hairline to the back of the head, while blow-drying hair straight with a large round brush. Finish the look by spritzing Frizz-Ease Instant Touch Up Serum over entire mane to clam static and smooth ends. To add luster, rub in a silicone shine enhancer, such as Avon Spa Henna Radiance Shine Gel.
If you've got straight hair and want to obtain Mariah’s soft waves, the process is easier than you think! Before going to sleep, braid your damp hair into sections. Tie off the end of the braids and keep them in over night or until completely dry. When you wake up, untie your hair and style as needed. Try spritzing on a lightweight hairspray and running your fingers through the hair.
Eyes // To achieve Mariah's exotic look, try lining your upper lids with Perfect Points Plus Eye Pencil in Espresso. Then try One-Kit Professional Eye Enhancers in Swiss Chocolate on the lids up to the crease, and finish with two coats of black mascara. For added glamour, try adding a layer of Noir eyeliner and use Candid and Lunar eye shadows by Lancôme. For a more dramatic look, try Revlon’s Moonlit Jewels cream-shadow quad and Stormy eye shadow.
Cheeks // For the Mariah look, try sweeping Cheekers Blush in Soft Sable or Miel Glacé blush by Lancôme on the apples of your cheeks. You may want to use Revlon Natural Light highlighting lotion for a more dramatic look.
Lips // So what exactly is it in Mariah's make-up bag that brings those luscious lips to life? "It’s so full, I’m not sure, though I always carry a M•A•C Spice lip pencil," she says. For the Mariah look, why not try using Continuous Color Lip Definer in Brown tones and then fill them with a Marathon Lipcolor in Café au Lait. Rose Fashion lipstick by Lancôme and Bare Beginnings lipstick by Revlon may also be good choices, depending on the exact look you’re going for.
