Mariah has hired the VIP bar of the hotel for the evening. Later tonight, a reception party for "We Belong Together" will be held at "Funky Buda", nightclub in Central London.

Here are bits of information that Mariah has revealed to the fans who have waited for her at the hotel:

  • Mariah will visit Spain during July. The visit was scheduled for July 12th and has been pushed back, possibly to July 19th.

  • Mariah loved the 12" Picture-Disc of "We Belong Together" that's coming out in the UK on July 4th.

  • When asked about her "Live 8" song choices, Mariah's replied she will make the final decision on tomorrow's rehearsal. So far 2005 has been a fantastic year for Mariah Carey. Her latest album has sold incredibly well globally and is continually breaking chart records over in the US. Lyrically, this is also a incredibly well-written track, destined to leave the audience in awe when she performs it at the Hyde Park Live 8 gig on Saturday.

"We Belong Together" Reclaims No. 1 On Hot 100! // 1:27 AM EST Updated by Liron

Congratulations Mariah! In its 13th chart week, "We Belong Together" officially reclaims the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. This is the song's 5th week at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and Mariah's overall 66th week at #1. The song remains at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart for a 6th week in a row!

"We Belong Together" also becomes Mariah's only single to have a chart run that includes non-consecutive weeks at #1!

"We Belong Together" breaks its own BDS airplay record with an unprecedented number of 212,191,100 audience impressions (10.1 million gain from last week).

Below are the approximated cumulative points for the top 5 artists: (in million impressions combining sales and airplay)

    1. Mariah Carey - We Belong Together: 283
    2. Bo Bice - Inside Your Heaven: 238
    3. Carrie Underwood - Inside Your Heaven: 194
    4. Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl: 185
    5. Black Eyed Peas - Don't Phunk With My Heart: 153

    --From Billboard Daily Music News:
Carey Rebound Keeps Bice From Hot 100 No. 1

He may have the top-selling single in the United States, but "American Idol" runner-up Bo Bice came up short in the overall race for No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. Bice has to settle for a No. 2 Hot 100 entry for his version of "Inside Your Heaven," a song that "Idol" winner Carrie Underwood took to No. 1 last week.

Holding Bice's debut solo release from the top of Billboard's main singles tally is Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together," which returns to No. 1 after a one-week break. The track, which stems from Carey's Island Def Jam album "The Emancipation of Mimi," has now led the list for five non-consecutive weeks. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list, "Together" is in the lead for a sixth week.

Bice is also No. 1 on the Pop 100, where Carey's "Together" is No. 2 and Underwood's "Heaven" falls 1-3. On the Hot 100, Underwood's song drops to No. 3.

Feedback On Mariah's BET Awards Performance // 4:22 PM EST Updated by Liron

--From AOL Black Voices: Best Staging: Mariah Carey
We know that she's been having vocal issues so we will give her a pass. Whether Mariah was completely there or not, her set was just gorgeous. How many awards shows have you seen where the stage actually looked like somewhere in the Caribbean? MC definitely gets props for that.

--From Blogcritics: When Mariah Carey performed "We Belong Together," I was pulling for her to make it through. Her voice sounded strained and that song is one that looks incredibly difficult to sing live. Somehow, she worked her way through it, like the pro she is. Her performance was sort of a breath of fresh air as it had no theatrics, fireworks, or crazy lighting tricks.

--From Fox 23: A hoarse Mariah Carey struggled through “We Belong Together” amidst a tropical backdrop.

--This morning on Power 105.1 Star and Buckwild have praised Mariah's performance on last night's awards show and said it was a classy performance.

--Earlier today, Jillian Barberie, Weatherwoman/Co-Host of Good Day L.A. mentioned Mariah and said how amazing she was last night at the BET Awards and how people like Fantasia went crazy when she appeared on stage.

  • "The Emancipation of Mimi" has been certified x3 platinum and becomes the 10th Mariah album to be certified Triple Platinum by the RIAA!

  • "We Belong Together" drops one spot to #3 on the Hot Digital Songs chart, selling 36,508 copies this week (17% decrease from last week) for a total of 320,441.

  • Below are this week's top sellers' figures:

Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl: 42,655
    (digital only)

Mariah Carey - We Belong Together: 36,508
    (digital only)

Despite the drop in digital downloads, Mariah's airplay figures are much higher than the competition and "We Belong Together" is likely to reclaim the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart this week.

Official chart positions will be revealed tonight.

  • According to Mediabase, "We Belong Together" has 247.791 million audience impressions and 25,093 spins!

    VH1 - 30

  • From Hits Daily Double: Although it’s a significant drop from the spectacular 740k debut total scored two weeks ago, Capitol’s Coldplay manages to hold onto this week’s #1 spot, with nearly 179k units sold. And there seems to be no stopping Island/IDJ’s Mariah Carey, who’s up from last week’s #4 to #2, with 127k [Billboard: 132k] (and the album’s still only on its second single...).

  • From Billboard Daily Music News: Contrary to recent weeks, the chart's next few slots are not populated by new titles gunning for the throne, but by top 10 veterans that all experienced plummeting sales. Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" (Island/Def Jam) rebounds 4-2 on sales of 132,000 copies, a 19% drop from the previous week.

Al Roker Spends An Explosive Night With Mariah // 5:32 AM EST Updated by Lynn

Al Roker will soon be spending a night with Mariah Carey - well, sort of.

Roker has been named host of NBC's telecast of the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks, joining Carey and "The Apprentice's Donald Trump.

"Adding this event to co-hosting the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Rose Parade and 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' officially gives me the title of 'Mr. Holiday,'" the "Today" show personality said in a statement.

NBC's coverage of the massive fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.

During the telecast, Carey is scheduled to perform "America the Beautiful," "Shake It Off" and "We Belong Together" from her latest CD.

Trump, for his part, won't be singing. Instead, he'll lead the countdown and give the command to start firing the estimated 40,000 rockets in the display.

"This experience, without a doubt, will be my biggest firing ever," Trump said in the announcement.

Note: Mariah will be performing "It's Like That" and not "Shake It Off" as New York Daily News reports.

Jermaine Dupri Resurrects 'Mimi' // 12:14 PM EST Updated by Liron

Mariah Carey reveals, "I knew that Jermaine Dupri was just good for this project." This proved to be a very smart move, as Jermaine Dupri has not only resurrected Mariah Carey's Mimi to be the biggest audience selling record to date, this record is the biggest selling record in musical history. No other producer has achieved this as to date, but Jermaine Dupri.

While the music industry counted Mariah Carey out, post the GLITTER album, Jermaine Dupri used his musical genius to create a sound that would not only capture new fans for Mariah Carey but also restored faith for Mariah Carey's fans who haven't heard her in awhile. Others stood with baited breath, and on the sidelines not even giving the "Resurrection of Mimi" a chance; the one person that stood by her, and knew that she could do it was Jermaine Dupri. He knew that Mariah Carey could do it, because Jermaine Dupri creates music that totally resonates in the souls of the listeners throughout the world, while bringing out the artist in the best light every single time. His music is not a cookie cutter style, he changes the music in accord to the artists, capturing the artist's unique sound. That's why he was able to create a sound for Mariah Carey that resurrected Mimi. Jermaine Dupri reveals, "I knew that Mariah could do it. She is an excellent singer, I knew she had what it takes to make her album a success, and it is definitely a wonderful album."

Australian Interview From The Set Of "Shake It Off" // 6:15 PM EST Updated by Liron

Richard Wilkins of Australia's "The Today Show" has interviewed Mariah on the set of the "Shake It Off" video in California. Below is the transcript of the preview to the interview:

Richard Wilkins: "Good morning to you! Well, I've had a busy couple of days over here. I've caught up with Mariah Carey, or Mariah Canary as we like to call her on the set of her new video "Shake It Off". It was shot on the Universal Studios lot. The video probably costing north of U.S 1 million dollars.

It was an absolutely huge set up. Mariah was there with a large posse, I tell you: her assistants have assistants. I asked her about her return to fame and glory after a pretty difficult time and how she deals with the turmoil in her life being played out in the media."

Mariah: "Well I think that, I never felt like a famous person until I went through the downside of fame and what that does, and how invasive that is and how hurtful things are when people make up lies about you and people hide in bushes and take bizarre pictures of you and paste your head on other people's bodies and all that kind of weird stuff.

When I was growing up, I was like: "Wow, I wanna be famous, I wanna do this, but I never wanted that level and then that happened to me and I was kind of like shocked and I just had to work through it and deal with it and fortunately I had great friends around me and just people who were there being like "you know what, you'll get through this because we know that people are just... you know, this is your time to get shots taken at you, so you gotta go through that."

Mariah Tapes 4th Of July Special // 5:52 AM EST Updated by Liron

Fans and friends gathered at Chelsea Piers (located at 23rd Street & the Hudson River) in New York last night for a one of a kind Mariah experience.

After gathering at the location, all the guests boarded a luxurious yacht by 8:30 PM. Around 9:00 PM, Mariah has arrived with her crew and with her friend Da Brat. The yacht stopped at various places in New York City in which Mariah performed.

Mariah performed "America The Beautiful" in a long blue sequenced gown in front of the Statue of Liberty. She then did "We Belong Together" in a short red mini dress in front of what used to be the World Trade Center. Then, in front of a backdrop of the bridges, she performed "It's Like That" with a special intro, wearing a white skirt and top with diamond buttons. It was sailor suit inspired. "America The Beautiful" and "It's Like That" were each recorded twice whereas "We Belong Together" was shot 4 times: once with dancers, twice without them and once for the helicopter shots.

All the songs were pre-recorded a couple of nights ago so that Mariah could sing to those versions on the yacht. The director of the event insisted Mariah performed the songs to backing tracks instead of singing them live.

The performances will be aired as a part of a 1 hour NBC special on 4th of July at 9:00 PM EST.

Extraordinary Concert with Mariah Carey in Tivoli // 2:47 PM EST Updated by Lynn

Tivoli has managed getting the American singer and superstar Mariah Carey to play a unique concert at "Plænen" in Tivoli on Monday, July 11th, 2005. This marks the first time that Mariah Carey has ever set foot on Danish soil. There aren't many chances to see the superstar live in Europe this summer, aside from the Tivoli concert, she will only be performing at Live 8 in London and in Germany. Mariah Carey currently tops the American singles chart with "We Belong Together".

The 35-year-old star debuted in 1990 with the album 'Mariah Carey' and has since sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, not least because of the albums 'Emotions', 'Music Box' and 'Daydream'. The huge success has secured her two Grammys, eight American Music Awards and 16 #1 singles on the American singles chart, a feat only topped by Elvis and The Beatles. This makes her the best-selling and most successful female artist of all time.

In April, Mariah Carey released her 10th studio album, 'The Emancipation Of Mimi', which is a colourful mix of Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B. The album was produced and written by Carey herself along with some of the hottest producers around, including The Neptunes, Jermaine Dupri and J. Austin. The album has spawned the hit single "We Belong Together", which is currently one of the most played songs in America.

The concert will take place on July 11th at 10pm and admission will be free for visitors to the amusement park.

  • Tivoli is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world and is Copenhagen’s most visited and famous tourist attraction. It is also renowned for its huge rock/pop concerts, and Mariah playing there is the scoop of the century!

Mariah’s performance will be free for all those who attend the amusement park that day. Just to clarify, that means that you just have to pay the normal entrance fee of 68 DKK for adults or 34 DKK for children.

For more information about the concert, visit MariahCarey.dk

--From San Francisco Bay View: Davey D. came across a tape that had an old interview he did with Shock G. He flipped to the b-side, and to his surprise he discovered the missing 2Pac interview from 1991. This rare unreleased interview with 2Pac was conducted shortly after he finished filming the movie Juice. 2Pac spoke about a lot of things, one of which was about the future challenges facing Hip Hop including regional beefs, and here he briefly mentioned Mariah. He said, "Instead of letting them do interviews where nobody ever reads them, let a good newspaper interview them. Instead of putting them on the radio when nobody is ever going to hear them or where nobody is going to hear them, have them where people can hear them and get at them where they had a better chance, just like if they were Mariah Carey."

You can download audio files of this once-lost-now-found 1991 interview with 2Pac Shakur by clicking here.
