The Best of Both Worlds tour, starring the R & B singer R. Kelly and the rapper Jay-Z, came to a crashing end yesterday afternoon, one day after a member of Jay-Z's entourage was said to have attacked Mr. Kelly with pepper spray. The singer was dumped from the show yesterday after Jay-Z said he would not share the stage with him.

Last night at the Garden, Jay-Z performed to a sold-out crowd, rounding up industry friends to take Mr. Kelly's place, including P. Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes, Method Man and Red Man. "I want you to know that one monkey don't stop the show," Jay-Z told the cheering crowd. Click here to read the entire article.

In People magazine, November 8th issue, page 65: "Girls night out. Get ready for Sex and the City. I hear Mariah Carey, Patti LaBelle, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, Macy Gray and comedienne Mo’Nique are in discussions to star in a new independent feature called Ladies’ Night for producer Lee Daniels (Monster’s Ball). The story follows a group of Philadelphia women who spend a night on the town discussing sex, weight, careers and, of course, love. Like the inexpensive Monster’s Ball, which won an Oscar for Halle Berry, the film’s budget will be small – less than $3 million – meaning the women will have no assistants or hairdressers on the set. Not only are they are up to the task, sources say that Beyoncé recently inquired about participating in the project as well."

Mariah Carey is planning to star in another movie - undeterred by her 2001 all-round flop Glitter.

The Honey star, whose '80s-themed movie was panned by critics and avoided by fans, is planning to team up with fellow singers Patti LaBelle, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys and Macy Gray, as well as comedienne Mo'Nique for independent film Ladies' Night.

The story will follow a group of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, women who spend the night on the town discussing sex, weight, careers and love.

The low-budget movie, a project of Monster's Ball producer Lee Daniels, has also attracted interest from Beyonce Knowles, who's inquired about participating.

From USMC: Lance Cpl. Elizabeth Quinones, 6th Communication Battalion, Brooklyn, N.Y., sings the National Anthem at a Hispanic Heritage Celebration in Garden City, N.Y., October 14. Quinones is a 33-year-old activated reservist who has spent most of her civilian life singing and acting professionally. She has sung backup for Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and Marc Anthony, and she has co-starred in an off-Broadway production.

"U Make Me Wanna", the new single from Jadakiss and Mariah, is making an impact at video and radio outlets around the world.

The song is #4 this week on AOL Music's Most-watched Videos. It is also #77 on Launch's Top 100 Videos and #25 on their Top 25 Rap Videos chart. You can raise that position by raiting the video at launch.com.

In South Africa, the song is the biggest gainer on Metro FM's Top 40 countdown. The single, which debuted at #37 two weeks ago, climbed 16 places to land at just outside the top 20 at #21 this week. With much to celebrate, it will come as no surprise to hear that Usher last week enjoyed a lavish 26th birthday party at New York’s Rainbow Room. Based on a Roaring 20s theme, the bash allowed the singer to play host to a stellar guest list including former mentor Jermaine Dupri, legendary soul diva Patti Labelle and supermodel Naomi Campbell, who is rumoured to be Usher’s new latest flame.

Dressed for the occasion in full flapper mode, complete with headdress, Carey, fresh from the video shoot for her latest track, ‘U Make Me Wanna’, a duet with rapper Jadakiss, apparently drew much attention on the dancefloor from the likes of Jay-Z and P. Diddy.

Long term friends, Mariah and Usher previously worked together on a re-make of 2 Pac’s ‘Me And My Girlfriend’ for Carey’s Rainbow disc in 1999, a full four years before Beyonce and Jay-Z’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde ’03’.

Mariah Carey is the next big star being lined up for a Las Vegas residency.

After wowing audiences for more than 20 years the 'Vegas entertainment institution Siegfried & Roy has come to a sad end following Roy Horn infamous mauling by one of his white tigers in 2003. Mariah is favourite to land their old residency at the Mirage Hotel.

Like Celine Dion and Sir Elton John, Mariah could command a multimillion contract should she agree to a year-long show in the desert. However, it's thought she'll see how successful her next album, due early 2005, is before committing.

Her last rap collaboration, with Busta Rhymes, resulting in one of the r’n’b anthems of last summer, I Know What You Want. No doubt Mariah Carey is hoping for a similarly positive reaction to her guest appearance with New Yorker Jadakiss on the smoochy slow jam U Make Me Wanna. Just to remove any doubt, Mariah and Jadakiss this week unveiled a suitably sexy video to accompany the track, which is already making an impact on the US Billboard Rnb chart on airplay alone. Filmed in LA’s Prey Club it features Ms Carey in a suitably eye catching little black dress sure to get pulses everywhere racing. The track, taken from Jadakiss’ no.1 US album should be following his previous smash hits Kiss Of Death and Why? into charts worldwide shortly, and serves as a taster of Mariah’s new studio project, which is apparently set for release early next year. Mariah has been working on the project, which includes collaborations with the likes of Damizza, Twista, Nelly and Kanye West, since completing her critically acclaimed Charmbracelet Tour earlier this year.

What’s more it seems we’ll be seeing rather a lot of Mariah next year. Manager Benny Medina, the man who took Jennifer Lopez from ghetto to stardom, recently talked of his excitement about the forthcoming album, which he declared will "hit all the marks," and also revealed that Mariah is currently looking at movie scripts, and, demonstrating her determination to build on the kudos she gained for her performance in mobster drama Wisegirls, is currently taking acting lessons. With other rumoured projects including her newly launched Automatic Princess brand jewellery and a series of children’s book under the same name, Carey obviously intends 2005 to be another busy year.

Still, with all that hard work ahead, every diva needs a little time to let her head down and Mariah apparently found the perfect opportunity this week at superstar singer Usher's lavish 26th brithday party, where the birthday boy's gifts included a $40,000 Audemars Piguet watch. Guests at the bash, held at New York's Rainbow Room included Jay-Z, P. Diddy, Pharell, L.A.Reid and Patti labelle. But despite the presence of the woman rumoured to be Usher's new girlfriend, supermodel Naomi Campbell, most of the male attention in the room was apparently focused on Mariah, who attended dressed in full flapper style, complete with headress. Reports suggest Mariah, who is a long term friend of RnB heartthrob Usher, was the centre of attention on the dancefloor thanks to the likes of Sean (P. Diddy) Combs, Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri surrounding Ms Carey.

Sounds like she should have her options open if current beau Mark Sudack doesn't come up to standards.

From Six Shot: N.O.R.E. will release his fourth solo album, One Fan a Day on December 21st. The album was originally slated to drop in November. The album will feature appearances and production from Nina Sky, Daddy Yankee, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Green Lantern, Mariah Carey, Beanie Sigel, Kanye West, David Banner, a previously unreleased verse from late rapper Big Pun, GemStar and Big Mato.

The DVD re-issue of "Fantasy: Mariah Carey Live at Madison Square Garden" is finally available for pre-order at amazon.com for only $10.49.

The 1995 FOX-TV special will be released for the first time on DVD on November 16, 2004. At this time, it is not known if the product will come with any special features, but amazon.com is not currently listing any.

In related news, HMV Japan has updated their website with information regarding the DVD release of "The First Vision" on November 17. Both the cover art and tracklisting has been revealed.

In addition to the videos for "Vision Of Love", "Love Takes Time", "I Don’t Wanna Cry" and the extended version of "Someday", and live performances of "Vanishing" and "Don’t Play That Song", this edition also comes with bonus live cuts of "Love Takes Time" and "Vision Of Love" from Mariah’s debut showcase concert, which were previously only available on the laser disc edition of the release.

On page 19 of the November 1st issue of US Weekly with Angelina Jolie on the cover, Mariah is shown in a photo with P. Diddy, Jay-Z and Usher. The caption says: P. Diddy, Jay-Z and Mariah Carey donned 1920s duds (the theme was User's idea!) for the October 17 bash at NYC's Rainbow Room. Said Diddy, "I want Usher on the dance floor right now. There are no VIP treatments tonight. Everyone, let's go crazy!"

The new Jadakiss single featuring Mariah, "U Make Me Wanna", has debuted at #8 on Billboard's Bubbling Under chart. This is equivalent to #108 on the Hot 100 tally. The track currently has 17.1 million audience impressions. It needs several more million to actually debut within the main chart.

Audience impressions can be raised by requesting the tune at your local radio stations. You can start now by voting for the song on Los Angeles-based station Power 106's Top 4@4 countdown, as well as their Top 7@7 countdown. The single recently fell off the former countdown for the first time in days.

A Mariah fan named Kim was shocked when she recently received a gift package directly from Mariah herself.

In that package, Mariah sent Kim three shirts from the Charmbracelet Tour, three CDs (copies of "The Remixes", "Greatest Hits" and "#1's"), a signed 8x10 photograph, and a signed copy of the Charmbracelet Tour program (pictured to the right of the screen), which was enscribed, "Dear Kim, Keep ya head up. Love, Mariah."

Kim, who has been sick for a decade with severe stomach problems, wrote Mariah a series of letters. Kim says Mariah's music has given her the strength to go on with her life. "Mariah is such a wonderful person. I just wanted to share with everyone how sweet and generous she is."

Usher had a ton of fun at his 1920s-theme birthday party Sunday night - unlike some record-industry execs.

As a 16-piece band played, the 26-year-old R&B star could be found on the Rainbow Room dance floor, where he, Sean (P. Diddy) Combs, Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri (looking like successful bootleggers) surrounded their "moll," Mariah Carey, as she did some flapper moves.

Some Josephine Baker-style dancers with pasties on their chests and bananas on their hips were also there to keep the joint jumping. Savion Glover tap-danced. Patti LaBelle sang "Happy Birthday." And Usher, sporting his new $40,000 Audemars Piguet watch, always seemed to have a glass full of Moet Nectar Rosé.

Five or ten years ago it was a rarity for an R&B singer to feature a hip-hop artist on a single--especially when the single was not a remix. Mariah Carey has to be given a lot of credit for merging the R&B and Hip-Hop genres. Mariah set off her 1995 single "Fantasy" by putting ODB on the track. Mariah went on to feature artists such as Jay-Z, P. Diddy, and Mase on singles.

Years later, merging hip-hop and R&B is commonplace and some of the artist out of the Dirty South are calling their new sound Crunk nB. Usher's "Yeah" is considered the first Crunk N'B single and Ciara's "Goodies" is considered the first female Crunk N B single. Nivea and Ciara are both back with new singles that feature hip-hop/rap artists. Nivea's new single "Okay" features Lil Jon and the Youngbloodz and Ciara's new single "1-2 Step" features Missy Elliott.

Mariah Carey's huddling in hush-hush talks with execs at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Who are betting big buck $$ that the voluptuous thrush will entice roaring crowds back to the still empty theater that once rang with the roars of Siegfried & Roy's jungle cats! A-list acts are jockeying for the job, but insiders say Mariah's a shoo-in!

Mariah was in attendance last night at Usher's birthday party celebration at the Rainbow Room in New York City. The theme of the event was "the Roaring 20's", and Mariah certainly dressed for the occasion.

Mariah's collaboration with Busta Rhymes and The Flipmode Squad, "I Know What You Want", was awarded as one of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs of the Year, as well as one of the Top Rap Songs at ASCAP's 2004 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. In addition, the hit single was a winner in ASCAP's 2004 Pop Music Awards.

However, because ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) award ceremonies honor songwriters, and because "I Know What You Want" is one of the very few Mariah songs that she didn't write or co-write, Mariah will not personally receive these awards.

An advertisement was placed in a local newspaper in Japan saying "Mariah Carey's 2005 Japanese Tour - Spring show in Tokushima confirmed! Deatils will be announced soon." Under that, it says, "The concert was scheduled to be held on December 25th at Asti Tokushima Hall, but it has been postponed to next Spring for Mariah's convenience."

Perhaps this means that the previously-announced tour dates in Japan (including Saitama, Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo) have all been rescheduled for next Spring.

Extra! featured a segment on Mariah during tonight's episode of the entertainment news program. They basicly informed viewers about her new song with Jadakiss, "U Make Me Wanna", and showed a short clip of the music video.

In that clip, Mariah was in sitting in the middle of a large group of people, as she was singing. The video was apparently filmed at the Prey Club, as Mariah was wearing the same outfit seen in her September 23 outing to the Beverly Hills venue.

Mariah's manager Benny Medina was also interviewed for the segment. He stated that Mariah is a living legend, that she's been working on her new album, and also that she has been reading scripts and even taking acting lessons. Although he didn't reveal much, Benny did an excellent job at giving Mariah a very positive spin.

Then the reporter from Extra! said that Mariah is getting ready to star in her own sitcom, and that they will surely give us updates when more news about it is available.

This Christmas mariahcareyuk.com is throwing its grandest fan event to date! The Lammys is an awards party celebrating the festive season, the UK fan community and mariahcareyuk.com turning 3 years old!

A fabulous venue in central London has been hired out. Guests can enjoy food, drinks from our own private bar, video clips of Mariah playing on a projection screen and our Lammy awards being presented on stage!

-- Rapper N.O.R.E. will release his fourth solo album, "One Fan a Day," Dec. 21 via Thugged Out/Roc-A-Fella. The set has been preceded by the SPK-produced hit single "Oye Mi Canto" featuring Nina Sky, Daddy Yankee, GemStar and Big Mato, which jumps 25-20 this week on the Billboard Hot 100.

"One Fan a Day" features production assistance from Timbaland, the Neptunes and Green Lantern, as well as guest appearances from Mariah Carey, Beanie Sigel, Kanye West, David Banner and a previously unreleased verse from late rapper Big Pun.

"One Fan a Day" is the follow-up to 2002's "God's Favorite," which peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums tally. It has sold more than 494,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

-- N.O.R.E. has switched the title of his album to One Fan a Day and has also changed his release date. Look for his next set on December 21. The album will feature an unreleased verse from Big Pun, as well as appearances by Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Beanie Sigel, David Banner and Lil Scrappy.

Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding, it was reported yesterday that Mariah's grandmother has passed away. We would like to correct the mistake and clarify that it is a grandmother of a close friend of Mariah's that has passed away.

Universal Japan, Frontier Music (promotion company) and Pia (online ticket sales in Japan) have confirmed that Mariah's promotional shows in Japan have been postponed to the beginning of next year.

Mariah was scheduled to perform at the Saitama Super Arena on December 26th. Tickets were due to go on sale on November 27th at prices ranging between 9450 yen to 10500 yen.

However, following the delay of Mariah's new album which is scheduled for an early 2005 release, the show has been pushed back.

The show at Saitama with other expected shows at Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Fukuoka are now speculated to take place in early 2005.

Details of the content of the show have not been announced yet.

A friend of mine who must remain anonymous tipped me off that Mariah was arriving with her manager, personal assistant, and bodyguard at Chicago's O’Hare airport Tuesday night. I was the ONLY fan waiting for her as she exited the escalator leaving the arrival gate. I was so well informed; I knew the actual terminal, escalator, and time of arrival.

When she was comfortably paused, I approached her. She was very cool with me as she filled my request for an autograph and picture. This was my second time meeting Mariah (first at Harpo studio's Oprah Show pre-tape rehearsal for the "Heartbreaker" performance with DaBrat and Missy). I asked her if she would remember the instance of us meeting but cut my story short and concluded "of course you don't remember me....", she giggled. I then rambled how big a fan I am and about the 150 Mariah CD's I have from all over the world, etc. She said "the new stuff will be out soon", and I replied, “I know, I check 'Mariah Daily' every day!!" I then told her I've been a fan since I saw her on 'Apollo' fourteen years ago. She then said "well don't say that too loud... we don't want anyone knowin' about no fourteen years ago" then snickered.

There was a limo for Mariah and her manager, etc., and an S.U.V. just for her luggage! I asked if she was in town on business and she said that a close family member had passed away. I later learned from another anonymous source that her Grandmother has passed on and she was in fact here for that reason. My condolences to Mariah and her family.

I wanted to share this experience with Mariah Daily, since I enjoy so much of the website so often.

Poor Mariah Carey. She makes a little progress, she takes a few steps backwards.

Carey has been busy recording her second album for Island Def Jam, the follow-up to her 2002 CD, "Charmbracelet." But since she started working on it, Carey jettisoned the two people who were closest to her and who were responsible for making "Charmbracelet" a hit: manager/partner Jerry Blair and publicist Cindi Berger. She replaced them with Jennifer Lopez's former manager, Benny Medina, who maybe did not know as much about Mariah as his predecessors.

Now Medina is on his own, and Mariah is being ... Mariah.

According to my sources, the diva recorded most of a new album and planned to release it this fall. But the CD she came up with was apparently not to the liking of Island Def Jam's L.A. Reid, who now is responsible for making sure Carey doesn't fall on her face. Apparently Reid was so displeased with the album, that the new release date has been moved to next winter or spring.

A lot is riding on this new Carey album, not just for Mariah, but for Reid too. This is his big chance to prove that he was not personally responsible for the end of Arista Records, where he piled up a lot of bills and didn't have a lot to show for his work when he left. His one accomplishment was turning Outkast into a household name, but his legacy — two failed Whitney Houston albums for example, on a $20 million advance — is not stellar. (I'm still wondering what happened to the Arista acts we were told would change our lives, Lennon and Adema.)

Carey, who's dating a 28-year-old assistant from her now defunct MonarC Records label, is said to be shuttling between the Isle of Capri, New York and Los Angeles as she records and re-records. I'm told that junior A&R people at Island Def Jam were recently asked if they had any new young, hip "with it" material for the statuesque senior — that is, 35-year-old — chanteuse.

The DVD of "Fantasy: Mariah Carey At Madison Square Garden" is now available to be ordered through Sony Music Store Online at a price of $11.98.

An additional note confirms that the DVD will be released on November 16th in the US;

The highly anticipated music video to "U Make Me Wanna" from Jadakiss and Mariah will have its world premiere this Saturday, October 16th. Underground producer Scram Jones was recently interviewed by Blues & Soul magazine. As you probably know by now, Scram worked on a song with Mariah featuring rapper N.O.R.E for her upcoming album.

When asked how the whole project came together, Scram said Mariah came into the studio one day with Damon Dash, and Scram was playing one of his beat CDs. Mariah really liked one of the tracks and asked N.O.R.E. to be on it with her.

Scram says Mariah returned the favor to N.O.R.E. by singing the hook on a track of his that also features Big Pun. That song was produced by DJ Green Lantern, another underground hip-hop beat-maker.

For a special issue of Vibe devoted to female readers, the magazine wanted to know who you would like to see on the cover. Mariah was leading the poll for several days, but now has been demoted to third place, and is several thousand votes behind Tweet and Amerie.

Guarini, who has struggled to stay in the spotlight since losing out to Kelly Clarkson in 2002's first season of the talent contest, had been working with Medina, former manager of Jennifer Lopez, but later decided it was better to part ways. He says, "Originally Benny and I had tried a bit of a tentative working relationship, but at the end of day it didn't work out. He had his priorities, and he's been focusing a lot on Mariah."

-- From Cornell Daily Sun: "Insect Electronica from South-East Asia", an album recorded by Tucker Martine purports to be field recordings of assorted insects from Burma, Laos, and Thailand. However, the "musicians" sound more like crickets than dragonflies; their modulated creaking and ceaseless scratching bounce off the water and themselves, testing the technical specs of Martine's recording devices. Indeed, if there's any one glaring flaw, it's that Martine's equipment seems incapable of faithfully capturing these shrill little exothermic creatures that would make Mariah Carey wilt away.

-- From Daily News Tribune: In the movie Raise Your Voice, a sort of Christian version of “Fame”, Hilary Duff falls into a chaste romance with a rakish British musician named Jay. As in Britney's "Crossroads" and Mariah Carey's "Glitter," the two lovebirds compose a generic ballad together. The results aren't any more inspiring the third time around.

After the German and British branches of Universal Music announced that Mariah's forthcoming album had been pushed back to early next year, other divisions are confirming this news.

HMV Australia is now listing the release date of Mariah's new album as January 17, 2005. Their information comes directly from Universal Music Australia.

A representative for Universal Music Spain said, "There won't be a Mariah album until February 2005". In addition, sources from Thailand have said the new album won't be released until early next year, although the local offices of Universal Music there have said nothing has been confirmed.

It appears that Mariah's cameo appearance in the movie "Death of a Dynasty" has been removed from the final cut of the film, or at least for the version that is being distributed on DVD in the United Kingdom.

Mariah made a short appearance as herself in the original cut of the independent film, which was directed by music moguel and a friend of Mariah's, Damon Dash.

The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in May 2003 and featured a slew of star cameos. It seems that most of them have been cut out, however, for the version of the film that was released on DVD on September 27th in the UK. Currently, that is the only distribution the movie has received anywhere in the world. Hopefully we will be able to see the un-cut version featuring Mariah's cameo once the movie is released elsewhere.

As of today, Jadakiss and Mariah's new single "U Make Me Wanna" has accumulated a little over 10 million audience impressions from the 337 total spins it has received from radio stations across the country (233 spins at urban outlets, 98 spins at rhythmic outlets, and 6 spins at pop outlets).

To debut on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, a radio-only single needs about 15 million audience impressions. At the current rate "U Make Me Wanna" is rising, the song should appear on the Hot 100 within the next two weeks.

As of right now, most stations are simply playing the song directly from Jadakiss's album, but they should be receiving promotional singles soon. The initial pressings of the promos have already turned up on eBay on both CD and vinyl. The album version and radio edit are available on both formats, and an instrumental version is available exclusively on the vinyl single.

A new song title from Mariah's upcoming album has been revealed. The track, produced by Scram Jones and featuring rapper N.O.R.E, has been listed as "Yur Girl" on Scram's official production webpage. Perhaps they meant "Your Girl"?

Jadakiss and Mariah's new single, "U Make Me Wanna", is being shipped to radio this month. The track is going for radio adds on October 26 at Urban and Top 40/Rhythm-Crossover stations. Hopefully this means that the music video will also premiere later this month.

The October issue of "Stuff" Magazine features an interview with Tia Texada who played Roxanne in "Glitter". Here's what she had to say about the movie:

Stuff: How excited were you the day you were told you would be starring alongside Mariah Carey in the film called 'Glitter'?

Tia Texada: I was excited, because I wanted to do musicals, and I love Mariah's voice. I thought, "I am going to get to dance in this movie, and it's going to be great!"

Stuff: At what point did you realize the movie was going to suck balls?

Tia Texada: It was when they brought mustard-yellow men's football pants to me and said, "You have to wear these, and we're going to put a red lighting bolt on the butt". Then they wanted me to wear a plastic dress that was shaped like a Christmas tree. At that point, I was like, There is something really, really wrong here.

Stuff: Maybe someday it'll be a classic. Like 'Howard the Duck'.

Tia Texada: You know what you should do? You should go out and buy it now, 'cause it's about 75 cents at your local drug store. And in 10 years, it's going to be a classic. You wait.

Today, German newspaper "BILD" published an article about the most glorious moments of boxing legend Wladimir Klitschko on its webpage. Dennis has translated the part where he mentions Mariah:

Wladimir: "Doing magic tricks is one of my hobbies. Once, I performed in front of Mariah, in her changing room at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. She tremendously enjoyed herself. And this is what is so fascinating about magicians. No matter if you make people google, cause marvel and surprise or just make them smile for a moment - you always reach out to them and touch their souls. And you even don't need to speak in order to achieve that goal."

Every self-respecting diva needs her expensive accessories and soul diva Mariah Carey is of course no exception. And when it comes to accessories, there can be few items more luxurious and expensive than Ms Carey's latest purchase, the new Maybach limo from Mercedes Benz. The car, which boasts a DVD player, two flat screens, a refrigerator and automatic climate control, would have cost the singer approximately $380,000, although optional features including solar panels cost extra. The car is so exclusive that potential purchasers have to wait to be approached by Mercedes and invited to purchase the car.

With a price ticket that bars all but the super-rich, it’s not surprising to hear that Carey's not the only superstar entertainer said to have taken delivery of this exclusive vehicle. Madonna and Arnold Schwazernegger are among other star names said to have purchased Maybachs, while Jennifer Lopez reportedly gave one to new husband, Latino crooner Marc Anthony as a birthday present.

With such luxurious features the car should meet every diva's needs though Carey, who has been known to stop traffic in order to reapply her make-up before a show, is reported to have found the vanity mirrors a little small for her requirements.

Still with such an expensive purchase, even a multi-million dollar diva may need to bring in a little cash. So it's just as well that we can report Mariah is keeping busy. She reportedly picked up her new toy in LA, having travelled there to film the video for her next smash hit. The track, U Make Me Wanna, is a duet with rapper Jadakiss, taken from his US No.1 album Kiss Of Death. No doubt the superstar paring will be hoping the slow jam, which apparently has a suitably sexy video, will emulate last year's summer smash Carey duet, I Know What You Want, with Busta Rhymes.

Clearly a lady who likes to keep busy, Carey, who has almost completed work on her next album, is apparently venturing into the world of acting again. Having redeemed herself after less than credible reviews for film debut Glitter, with a critically acclaimed appearance in mobster drama Wisegirls, Carey is reportedly in talks to launch her own US sitcom. Described by studio bosses as very 'funny' Carey is said to be on the lookout for a British man to costar after saying how much she enjoys the British sense of humour. Let's hope they like hers.

-- From Yahoo! News: Britney Spears earns her fourth Mainstream Top 40 hit this year, as "My Prerogative" begins its chart life at No. 28. Spears also has charted the most songs on Mainstream Top 40 so far this decade, with a total of 14. With 16 charting songs in her career, Spears is in fourth place behind Madonna (24), Janet Jackson (21) and Mariah Carey (20) for the artist with the most charted titles in the history of the chart.

-- From Pop Dirt: Our poll asking which pop star would be able to charge the most for a concert ticket in the year 2020 saw Britney Spears edge out Christina Aguilera, 31.6% to 25.6%. Next up was Mariah Carey with 13.9%, while Avril Lavigne came in fourth with 7.4%. Check out the complete results here.

-- From Newsday: The state Lobbying Commission has accused music moguel Russell Simmons, former NAACP head Benjamin Chavis and Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit Action Network of not reporting spending on a June 2003 rally in New York City in favor of easing the harsh Rockefeller drug laws. The rally featured Mariah Carey, Susan Sarandon, Jay-Z and other celebrities.

-- From ABS-CBN News: Complementing the Honda CVT is the Steer-Matic with a 7-speed mode that lets you shift gears with fingertip ease on the steering wheel itself. Driving alone is still enjoyable with this technology around. I would not mind being alone driving this car especially when there’s John Mayer and Mariah Carey keeping me company on the City’s superb audio system.

-- From Orion Online: If it weighs less than 10 pounds, you can carry it in your purse and it barks, you may be toting around the next trend. Stars like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Kelly Osbourne have all opted for small dogs.

Japan: Yesterday we announced that Mariah's 1996 "Fantasy: Live At Madison Square Garden" home video would be released for the first time on DVD in America on November 16, and November 15 internationally. Well, it appears that her first-ever video release, 1991's "The First Vision", will also be released on DVD -- in Japan -- on November 17. Check out HMV Japan for more information.

Germany: "WiseGirls", or "Drei Engel Gegen die Mafia" (Three Angels Against the Mafia) as it's being called in Germany, will premiere on German television for the first time on Friday, October 22 at 10:45pm on the ARD station. Click here for more information.

Latin America: "It's Good To Be Mariah Carey" will premiere on E! TV on October 10. Check out eonlinelatino.com for furthur details.

Cinemax will premiere "Glitter" (regionally called "El Brillo de una Estrella") on October 3, and it will be shown another four times during the first half of the month.

"WiseGirls", which is titled "Implicadas con la Mafia" in Spanish, will premiere on October 8 on the film channel Movie City; and it will be shown on several additional dates during the month. -- Al Sharpton will celebrate his 50th birthday tonight with a party at new restaurant Milieu. Sharpton - who has a new reality-TV show on Spike TV, called "I Hate My Job," expects to be joined by Naomi Campbell, Mariah Carey, Donald Trump and Derek Jeter.

-- From Vanguard: A solo album from Beyonce has been inevitable since Destiny’s Child hit the scene in 1997 with their monstrous debut hit, “No, No, No.” Beyonce, Kelly, and former members Letoya and Latavia are all fine, but Beyonce’s svelte frame, caramel complexion, and around-the-way-girl demeanor gave her an edge. Plus, she can belt those Mariah Carey-like lines without, ahem, over-singing them like Mariah.

-- From Times Online: On the title track to Funky Dory, UK Pop Star Rachel Stevens sings “You’re a work of pop art/ Wanna hang you on the wall/ You’re funky dory baby/ Baby that’s all”, hardly a confidence boost to a woman whose Jennifer Aniston-via-Mariah Carey image pouts down from the bedroom walls of many adolescent males who don’t actually buy her records.

-- From The Age: They said it couldn't (or shouldn't) happen, but Duran Duran are back with a new album and an ambition to be as big as their hair all over again. Astronaut, the first album since 1983's Seven And The Ragged Tiger was recorded in the south of France over the course of more than two years, with at least four different producers (producers whose previous work encompasses artists as diverse as Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Limp Bizkit) Astronaut is still unmistakably a Duran Duran record.

-- From The Strait Times: Taking a break from fiery sermons, Malaysia's fundamentalist Islamic opposition group has enlisted rock singers to loosen up its image and help it reach out to younger people. The party has previously protested concerts held in Kuala Lumpur by Western artists including Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Linkin Park, saying such entertainment could corrupt young people among the country's Malay Muslim majority.

According to MusicTap.net, Columbia Records will re-issue their 1996 video of "Fantasy: Mariah Carey Live at Madison Square Garden" on November 16 as a DVD.

Jadakiss's new single "U Make Me Wanna", which features vocals from Mariah, is beginning to make a small impact on radio stations across the country. This week, the track inches up to #62 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, thanks to it being added to a half dozen stations, most of which are high impact.

The song greatly needs phone requests to support additional spins. In order of priority, the following stations are playing the song or considering playing the song. -- According to Billoard Hot 100 Singles rewind, "Heartbreaker" soared from number 16 to number 1 this week five years ago.

-- On October 3rd and 4th, a large goup of Mariah fans are going to go to vote for Mariah's "Through The Rain" music video on Total Request Live to shock MTV and its viewers, and promote Mariah just as she begins to release new material. The goal is to reach at least Number 10 on the countdown. If you would like to participate, log on to mtv.com and at the bottom of the TRL voting page, type in "Mariah Carey, Through The Rain" under the "other" category.

-- Mariah was the answer to the $2,000 question on last night's edition of the trivia television show Jeopardy. The question was, "What singer's collaboration with R&B group Boyz II Men spent a record 16 weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100?" The contestant that answered the question, Russ from Fort Collins, Colorado, turned out to be the show's champion winner.

-- From Ask Billboard: Boyz II Men has sold over 22 million albums in the U.S. The act's biggest selling single is "One Sweet Day," their collaboration with Mariah Carey. It has moved 2.3 million copies since its release in 1995.

-- From The Business Times: Along the way, Spanish jeweller Carrera y Carrera had actress Penelope Cruz front its advertising, and celebrities ranging from Victoria Beckham and Mariah Carey to Claudia Schiffer and Melanie Griffith snapped wearing its jewels.
